Rise, Vote, Voice

Co-created hand drawn 12 page zine for Some Women and the Pankhurst Trust as part of a youth engagement project aiming to inspire and support young people’s political participation and community activism by connecting with Manchester’s women-led activism of part and present.

By encouraging the young people to be part of the visual storytelling the zine became a compilation of voices, and campaign messages.  An adaptable framework, and multi-layered opportunities to participate helped young people build confidence in their skills and meant they were very engaged throughout the day.

To generate a variety of content sharing opportunities for the campaign the zine incorporated different types of content (including a record of activism activities, self-portraits with key messages, extracts of campaign plans and reviews of the day).

The zine was also printed as a publication and sent out to schools across Greater Manchester post event.
